A remote controllable car navigation system is provided to allow a driver to easily use the navigation system while driving the vehicle by using a jog shuttle type remote controller. A remote controllable car navigation system comprises a navigation apparatus(102) and a remote controller(102). The navigation apparatus(102) includes an antenna, a radio frequency module for receiving a satellite signal, a location detecting unit which detects the current location, a power unit which supplies power, a random access memory which memorizes destinations or courses of traveling, a read-only memory which memorizes programs necessary for the operation of the navigation system, a key input unit which is provided to allow a user to input a command, a map information memory which memorizes map information, and a remote controller signal receiving section which is provided to process the signal generated from the remote controller(102).
