<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate a displacement of less than 1 pixel in a main scanning direction based on an installation position error in an image forming system using a solid scanning optical writing device. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming system includes: the solid-state scanning optical writing devices each of which has a number of light modulation devices set for each color and aligned in the main scanning direction; the function to control optical writing by the solid-state scanning optical writing device; a controller which conducts 1 pixel's worth of exposure by instructing the light modulation devices to conduct multiple light modulations in a secondary scanning direction. The control changes light modulation devices to be addressed in relation to the data of each pixel within multiple optical modulations of 1 pixel's worth for at least one solid-state scanning optical writing device based on an installation position error between the multiple solid scanning optical writing devices in the main scanning direction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
