Disclosed are a method for calculating a transmission frame field value in a mobile communication system and an apparatus for the same. The method for calculating a transmission frame field value in a mobile communication system according to the present invention comprises the steps of: extracting T_data to calculate a duration/ID field value of VHT RTS; determining a bandwidth available in a receiver; determining a duration/ID field value by excluding SIFS and T_(block)ack from the duration/ID field value of VHT RTS, if bandwidth information of the VHT RTS received from a transmitter matches up with the bandwidth information available in a receiver; and determining a duration/ID field value by considering a difference in bandwidths, if bandwidth information of the VHT RTS received from a transmitter does not match up with the bandwidth information available in a receiver. Accordingly, the efficiency of an apparatus can be enhanced.
