1. A storage device operable to be coupled to a host electronic device via an interface between the storage device and the host electronic device, the storage device comprising:
at least one memory operable to store at least one application and provide mass storage functionality; and at least one processor operable to execute the at least one application on the storage device; wherein, the storage device is operable to act as a master storage device to control at least one slave function of the host electronic device; and wherein, file input and output accesses are used for communication between the master storage device and the at least one slave function of the host electronic device.
