The present invention comprises methods and apparatuses for device-specific adaptation of wireless charging behaviour by mobile devices. The method for device-specific charging of a wirelessly chargeable mobile telephone in a vehicle comprises obtaining a product identification for the wirelessly chargeable mobile telephone. The method comprises remotely retrieving one or more device-specific parameters. The device-specific parameters are identifiable on the basis of the product identification. The device-specific parameters form a correlation between a charging reception power and a charging transmission power. The method further comprises charging the mobile telephone on the basis of the device-specific parameters.
