PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a culture vessel that is resistant to contamination with various germs and permits the easy observation of the cells attached to the vessel by providing a plurality of specific cell-attaching areas on the face of the bottom made of a cell-unattaching material. SOLUTION: This culture vessel has the bottom 2 made of a cell-unattaching substance and the bottom face material 2 has a plurality of cell-attaching areas for attaching cell groups, for example, hepatocytes, endothelial cells, epidermal cells and the like. This cell-attaching areas are made of a cell-attaching substance and the cell-attaching areas have individually a large size to which only one cell group attaches sufficiently among these sell groups and they are arranged so that the cell groups attached to adjacent areas may not contact with each other with a prescribed interval where 5 or less cells are included in the cell groups. In a preferred embodiment, the cell-attaching areas is made of a cell-attaching protein membrane, for example, collagen, fibronectin, laminin, vitronectin or the like.
