PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To omit a lubricant applying process to a seal groove of a bearing ring and to prevent the squeak of a seal lip. SOLUTION: In a sealing device or a rolling bearing, a seal groove 8 is provided at one bearing ring, and a seal plate provided with a seal lip 7a coming in axial sliding contact with a side wall 8a of the seal groove 8 is fixed to the other bearing ring. In this case, a seal lip 7a is provided with a lubricant sump 9 at its sliding contact part with the side wall 8a of the seal groove 8.
