BRAKE CONTROLLER FOR STACKER CRANE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a brake controller for a stacker crane preventing a collapse of cargo on a carriage by preventing sudden braking of a motor when power is cut off and not requiring a safety factor of chains and ropes more than necessary. SOLUTION: A contact X1 closed by an inoperative state of an electromagnetic contactor CT when power is cut off is serially connected to a regenerative resistance R. An electric current generated by a servomotor M working as a generator is fed to the regenerative resistance R via the contact X1 and a brake BR is maintained in an inoperative state by a voltage generated at the regenerative resistance R. Also, an electric current of the regenerative resistance R is fed to an armature of the servomotor M for applying braking to the motor and smoothly stopping a carriage.
