Disclosed herein is a composition for a controlled delivery system comprising bupivacaine, sucrose acetate isobutyrate (SAIB) and benzyl alcohol. Also disclosed is the use of bupivacaine, sucrose acetate isobutyrate (SAIB) and benzyl alcohol in the manufacture of a composition for providing sustained local anaesthesia.
