The illuminated card has a base layer (1) on which at least one light emitting element (4) is arranged and a covering layer with at least one light transmitting area. The covering layer consists of a light transmitting film that is printed with an opaque ink up to the transparent area. The transparent area is printed with a bright-sign ink and the light emitting element is an ultraviolet light emitting diode.
