PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a molding die and a manufacturing method which, in the manufacturing method of a composite optical element in which a UV curable resin is filled into a die having a fine shape and cured to transfer the fine shape which the die has to the molded product, prevent deformation of the molded product due to the curing shrinkage of the resin upon forming the resin optical element that is formed on the surface of an optical element that makes a substrate. SOLUTION: The molding die for the optical element comprises a die surface on which a transfer shape to compose the shape of the optical element is formed. On the die surface there is formed a thin film having the nonlinear optical effect which, when light of a specific wavelength enters, returns light of the wavelength of 1/n (n=2, 3, 4...) of the incident wavelength.
