PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation system capable of acquiring traffic information in the future at an arrival time in a point distant from a current position, and capable of knowing accurately a required time until arriving at a destination from the current position. SOLUTION: A network navigation center 10 receives road information RI about the arrival time within an arriving area, from a mobile communication equipment 12 mounted on an automobile, via a cellular phone base station 14 and a general phone line network 16, as to a road positioned within the arriving area in every prescribed time from the current position. A network navigation center retrieves a traffic information TI as to a registered point thereof or an optional point on a route, based on the road information, to be transmitted to the mobile communication equipment, via the general phone line network and the cellular phone base station. The traffic information is constituted of a congestion range data as to the registered point or the optional point on the route, and is displayed on a display 43 of the mobile communication equipment for a user to confirm the traffic information of a congestion or the like in the future.
