PURPOSE: A bicycle using hydraulic pressure to help pedaling is provided to enable an old or weak person to ride the bicycle without difficulty. CONSTITUTION: A bicycle using hydraulic pressure to help pedaling comprises a front wheel, a rear wheel, a handle-bar stem, a handle, a support frame, a saddle, a rotary shaft, and a chain. A housing(20) having a specified volume is fixed to the front lower part of the support frame, and an actuating cylinder(21) is fixed to the inner rear part of the housing. The rotary shaft is pivotally installed through the housing and bent inside the housing so that the leading end of a cylinder rod(22) of the actuating cylinder is pivotally attached to the center of the rotary shaft. A rechargeable battery is connected to the rear wheel. An oil tank(24) and an oil pump(25) are installed inside the housing. The oil pump is provided with power from the battery through the manipulation of a controller installed on the top of the support frame and pumps the oil from the oil tank. A reservoir(27) containing the high-pressure oil pumped with the oil pump is installed around the actuating cylinder, and a hydraulic valve(28) which is selectively opened by a pedaling load is provided inside the reservoir so that the oil of the reservoir is selectively drawn to the top or bottom of the piston in the actuating cylinder. |
