PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an umbrella having a handle easy to fit to a shaft for assembling and easy to remove from the shaft for separated disposal, and allowing for use as a manually opening or automatically opening umbrella. SOLUTION: A cylindrical body having male threads on an outer peripheral face is provided on a base of a shaft supporting part of a handle body 100. The cylindrical body is formed of a pair of semi-cylindrical bodies divided along a face including an axis. One semi-cylindrical body 104 is fixed to the handle body 100. The other semi-cylindrical body 110 has an engaging projection 111 formed on an inner peripheral face so that it is inserted into a handle positioning hole 25 of the shaft 2. The semi-cylindrical body 110 is attached to the semi-cylindrical body 104 from the side so as to form the cylindrical body having the male threads formed on the outer peripheral face.
