<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an AC power supply device reducing the number of switching elements and capable of reducing switching loss and noise of the switching elements. <P>SOLUTION: The AC power supply device includes a first AC voltage generation circuit 1a which has first switching means Q1, Q2 for turning ON/OFF a DC voltage of a first DC power source Vina so as to generate a first AC voltage of a positive/negative asymmetric waveform and output the voltage to one end of loads 7-1 to 7-n, a second AC voltage generation circuit 1b which has second switching means Q3, Q4 for turning ON/OFF the DC voltage of the first DC power source or a DC voltage of a second DC power source Vinb so as to generate a second AC voltage of a positive/negative asymmetric waveform having a 180-degree phase difference against the first AC voltage and outputs the voltage to the other end of the loads, and a control circuit 10 which turns ON/OFF the first switching means and turns ON/OFF the second switching means with a 180-degree phase difference against the ON/OFF of the first switching means.
