The device (2'') has generation units for generating output signal representing an angular position of a rotor. A digital table (20) has memory location storing digital words addressed by a rotor angular position signal (theta(t)) and delivering binary control signals (200-202) whose number is equal to number of phases. Each control signal controls switching of a high power switch (250H) and a low power switch (252B) along a temporal sequence predetermined based on an instantaneous value of the rotor angular position signal.
