<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve temperature distribution characteristics by, changing the effective electrode area of a unit cell, and to enhance the durability of a flat-plate type fuel cell stack. <P>SOLUTION: The flat-plate type fuel cell stack 20 is constituted of multi-layered lamination of two kinds of power generation units 2, 2A, of which the effective power generation areas of unit cells 6, 6A are different. The unit cell 6 of either of the power generation units is composed of an electrolyte 3, a fuel electrode 4 and an air electrode 5. The unit cell 6A of the other power generating unit 2A is constituted of an electrolyte 3, a fuel electrode 4, and an air electrode 5A, and each is arranged on an uppermost layer and the lowest layer of the multi-layered power generation unit 2, respectively. Moreover, the air electrode 5A of the unit cell 6A of the other power generation unit 2A is set so that the effective electrode area is smaller than that of the air electrode 5 of the unit cell 6 of the one power generation unit 2, in order to increase a heat-generation volume. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
