A warning area (W) having a plurality of narrow width areas is formed by an optical section (3), including a detecting element (30), and a light collecting section (30) so that the direction of the warning area can be changed to detect the intrusion of an object into the warning area. This intrusion detection device (1) includes an area adjusting unit (35), which is provided in one of the optical section and the light collecting section to optically adjust the optical path between the optical and light collecting sections, which forms the narrow width areas of the warning area, and a position setting unit (45) provided in the other of the optical and light collecting sections to set the position thereof upon its engagement with the area adjusting unit. |
