A device for purifying sewage provides for the passage of sewage through filtering masses, suitable to withhold at least part of the solid fraction of the sewage. The device (1) comprises a treatment section including at least one percolation unit (10) operatively associated to which are means (13) for supplying the sewage and means (15) for collecting at least part of a liquid fraction of the sewage. Defined between the supply means (13) and the collecting means (15) is a flow-path, which includes at least one chamber (11) for containing material that provides a filtering mass, suitable to be passed through at least by the liquid fraction of the sewage. Operating within the chamber (11) is a device (20) for moving the material, which is controllable in actuation and/or in position within the chamber (11), so as to perform at least one among: distribution of the material that is loaded into the chamber (11), surface levelling of the material loaded into the chamber (11), adjustment of the head, or height, of the filtering mass within the chamber (11), unloading of the filtering mass from the chamber (11). |
