PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that in a side knock type writing instrument, if the writing instrument in its writing condition is erroneously put into a breast pocket or the like, there is a danger that clothes may be soiled by a pen point. SOLUTION: In a side knock type writing instrument wherein a writing means is projected or retracted by a side knock mechanism and a cam mechanism which are provided on a case 1, a through hole 13 is formed through a rear side wall of the case 1, and lock means 71, 92 for preventing a writing means 3 from rearwardly moving are provided respectively on the rear side of a forward part of the clip 91, and on a rotary cam 7 constituting the cam mechanism through the hole 13, in such a manner that the means 71, 92 can be released by raising the forward end of the clip 91. |
