One cast metal or plastic clamp-half with screws inserted through the strip of timber (22) is joined to a smaller clamp-half to form the clamp arrangement. Each clamp-half, between semi-round recesses, has two side clamping arms in which are round pipes or clamping sleeves. In the middle of the clamping arrangement, between the holes for the screw-shanks and the hexagonal holes for the nuts is a wide hole for tensioning the pipes or sleeves. A clamping sleeve (24) has a long, downward-pointing part next to a smaller clamp with a sickle-shaped clamping-jaw which is mounted with the screw (25). A long-shanked screw (23) is inserted beside a vertical sleeve.
