When the door is closed a contact finger (13) allows an operating plate (14) to fall under the action of a blade spring (24). The movement of the plate closes the principal dead latch (4) by the action of a pin and slot (22,23) and also closes the auxiliary latches (8,9) through operating rods (26,29) and an inverting mechanism (30). The door is opened either by a key or motor (40) which raises the operating plate and recharges the spring.
