PURPOSE: An airbag system for bolstering the knees of a passenger is provided to effectively protect the knees of the passenger by controlling the inflation of an airbag according to the posture and position of the passenger. CONSTITUTION: An airbag system for bolstering the knees of a passenger is composed of first and second airbag module(6a,6b), right and left front G sensors(10,9) for detecting right and left collision respectively, a center front G sensor(11) for detecting central collision, a passenger sensor(12) for detecting the posture of the passenger, and an ECU(8). The ECU selectively controls the first and second airbag module according to the posture and position of the passenger. |
