<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve the dehumidification of moist transfer paper without a dehumidifying heater and to realize energy saving, a cost reduction, and resource saving as well as operability improvement. <P>SOLUTION: When transfer paper that easily absorbs moisture is set in a manual paper insertion tray, a dehumidification mode is set. When sheets of transfer paper for the number of repetitions are fed from a paper feed tray in step S1, the paper is dehumidified by the heat roller of a fixing device. At the time, if the transfer paper is passed through the fixing device with a pressure roller having normal pressing force, the transfer paper may be wrinkled. For the reason, the pressing force is set lower than usual. The dehumidified transfer paper is ejected with nothing on it. After the operation is repeated on paper for the number of the repetitions in steps S2 and S3, the processing ends. By providing the dehumidification mode, even transfer paper that has been moist can be recycled and resources can be effectively utilized. Also it is unnecessary for an operator to store transfer paper in a nylon bag or the like to prevent moisture absorption of the transfer paper.
