PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat developable photosensitive material excellent in image tone and excellent further in storage stability. SOLUTION: The heat developable photosensitive material has, on a surface of a support, an image forming layer containing a photosensitive silver halide, a non-photosensitive organic silver salt, a reducing agent for silver ions and a binder, wherein the heat developable photosensitive material contains a compound represented by formula (I) and a coupler capable of forming a dye by reaction with the oxidized product of the compound, and when image density is 1.1-1.3, image density by the dye at the maximum absorption wavelength of the dye is 0.005-0.5.
