PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic receptor whose wear resistance and cleaning performance can be compatible at high levels and with which excellent picture quality can be obtained for a long period. SOLUTION: Disclosed is the electrophotographic receptor which has a conductive base 3 and a photosensitive layer 6 provided on the conductive base 3, the electrophotographic receptor being characterized in that the photosensitive layer 6 has an outermost surface layer containing a resin having a crosslinked structure and particles on the side farthest from the conductive base 3 and the 10-point mean surface roughness of the surface F1 of the outermost surface layer on the opposite side from the conductive base 3 and the volume mean particle size of the particulates meet conditions expressed by Rz≤1.0 (1) and ln(Rz)≤22D-2.8 (2). Here, Rz is the ten-point mean surface roughness (μm) of the surface of the outermost surface layer on the opposite side from the conductive base and D is the volume mean particle size (μm) of the particulates.
