<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately axially position an oil seal and a slinger when fitting them, in an outer peripheral rubber seal type sealing device which comprises combination of the oil seal and the slinger and in which the oil seal includes a rubber elastic body 21 fitted to a metal ring 12 and integrally provided with an inner peripheral rubber part 24, a seal lip part, end face rubber parts 23 and an outer peripheral rubber part 22. <P>SOLUTION: Communication parts 16 communicating with the inner periphery and outer periphery of the metal ring 12 with each other are provided in an end face part of the metal ring 12, and the end face rubber parts 23 are arranged inside the communication parts 16. The end face part of the metal ring 12 is exposed to the surface in portions other than the communication parts 16, and the surface exposure portions serve as axial direction positioning parts 18 with respect to the slinger.
