Method for dressing a tool used for fine machining of a gear

The method involves forming an inclination angle at a tool (1) deviating from the angle of teeth of a gear wheel, while a dressing wheel (3) is moved with a modified inclination related to the tool during a dressing operation. Width (Ba) of the teeth that engages with the tool is smaller than width (Bw) of the tool such that the wheel (3) is moved for over coating the width (Bw) about a length in a direction that corresponds to the width (Ba). The gear wheel is finely machined with the tool by the adjustment of the modified inclination angle by correction of an axis cross angle.
