<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophoretic display, which achieves a live-action display effect having movement produced using a gradation change of display even in a still image, by dynamically changing the gradation of the display. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The electrophoretic display includes: charging particles enclosed between a pair of substrates having electrodes on surfaces opposite to each other; a display panel having a memory property that performs the display by movement of the charging particles; a driving means which receives input of display data to output a driving voltage waveform to the electrodes, wherein the driving voltage waveform is composed of a driving pulse array formed by combining a plurality of display inversion pulses B11 to B14 and a plurality of pause pulses C11 to C13, and the display inversion pulses have pulse widths smaller than those of the pause pulses.
