<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pump device constructed to prevent the occurrence of reverse thrust therein while suppressing an increase of axial thrust on the suction side. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A flow path length 20 of a clearance flow path which is formed between a side plate 5 on the suction side out of two side plates 5, 7 sandwiching the blade of an impeller 2 and a side plate 6 on the suction side out of two side plates 6, 8 sandwiching a guide blade 4 is greater than a width 21 of the side plate 6, and the outlet of a leak flow in the clearance flow path exists closer to the outer diameter side than the inlet. Otherwise, a flow path length 22 of a clearance flow path which is formed between the side plate 7 on the suction side out of the two side plates 5, 7 sandwiching the blade of the impeller 2 and the side plate 8 on the suction side out of the two side plates 6, 8 sandwiching the guide blade 4 is greater than a width 23 of the side plate 7, and the outlet of the leak flow in the clearance flow path exists closer to the outer diameter side than the inlet.
