PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the stay of blow-by gas and the generation of a pumping loss when a space divided by a bulkhead is formed in a cover member connected to an upper surface of a cylinder head of an internal combustion engine. Ž
SOLUTION: Since the inside of a box-shaped cam cover 13 connected to the upper face of the cylinder head is partitioned by a plurality of partitioning walls 91, and a recess 91g which is notched upwardly is formed at the lower edge opposing the cylinder head of the partitioning wall 91 located between at least adjacent cylinders among the plurality of partitioning walls 91, spaces are made to communicate with each other via the recesses 91g formed at the partitioning walls 91 even if a pressure variation in a crank case accompanied by the vertical movement of a piston is transmitted to the space between the adjacent two partitioning walls 91g. By this, not only the pumping loss can be reduced by absorbing the pressure variation, but also the stay of the blow-by gas is prevented, thus progressing communication.
