PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a combustion device capable of achieving cooling, protection of a heat shielding plate properly, while reducing consumption of air used for cooling of the heat shielding plate.SOLUTION: A combustion device C1 includes a burner 5 and a heat shielding plate 9. The heat shielding plate 9 includes: a main plate part 90 standing located on a lateral side of a flame formation region 58 above the burner 5; a step part 91 for projecting from a lower end of the main plate part 90 to the side closer to the burner 5, and set at substantially the same height as a flame hole surface 52 of the burner 5; and an air passing port 94 provided at the step part 91. At the main plate part 90, an opposing wall part 92 is provided for opposing to the air passing port 94 by protruding to the flame formation region 58 side from a middle position in the vertical height direction of the main plate part 90, and for colliding with the air travelling upward from the air passing port 94.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
