PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal compact having sharp corners, excellent rigidity in the vicinity of corners and excellent productivity and a method of producing a metal compact.SOLUTION: A metal compact 1 includes a top plate part 10 made of a metal plate and a wall part 20 erected from the top plate part 10 and has a ]-shaped cross section. The outer bent radius R of a corner 15 connecting between the outer surface of the top plate part 10 and the outer surface of the wall part 20 is equal to or smaller than the thickness tof the top plate part 10. The virtual angles &thetas; between the extended plane of the outer surface of the top plate part 10 and the extended plane of the outer surface of the wall part 20 is at least partially smaller than 90°. The thickness tof the wall part 20 is equal to or greater than the thickness tof the top plate part 10. The relationship R≤tmakes the corner sharp and stylish and results in a beautiful appearance, and the relationship t≥timparts excellent rigidity of the wall part 20 and improves the rigidity in the vicinity of the corner 15. The metal compact 1 can be produced by multistep pressing of a metal plate 100 with excellent productivity. |
