PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a polymer molded object sufficiently high in the polymn. curing of the surface layer thereof, reduced in appearance irregularity and a residual offensive smell, and easy in the bonding processing of a molded product. SOLUTION: In subjecting a cycloolefinic compd. to bulk polymn. within a mold in the presence of a two-component mixing type metathesis polymn. catalyst, an one-component type metathesis polymn. catalyst dissolved in a volatile solvent is preliminarily sprayed on the surface of the mold to form a layer of this metatheses polymn. catalyst and molding is performed by using this mold to produce a cycloolefinic polymer molded object. As the one- component metathesis polymn. catalyst, an Ru carbene catalyst is pref. used.
