PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for separation of COfrom a porous solid carbon by pressure swing adsorption in which the selective adsorption of COis improved by increasing the dynamic adsorption capacity of COand/or the selectivity of an adsorbent to CO.SOLUTION: This method for separation of COpresent in a gas mixture by pressure swing adsorption (PSA) includes a process for bringing the gas mixture to be purified into contact with at least one adsorbent formed of at least one porous carbon material including carbon of at least 70 wt.%. The carbon material has a specific surface area over 1,500 m/g and the micropore capacity of 0.5-2 cmper 1 g adsorbent and of 0.2-0.9 cmper 1 cmadsorbent, and the micropore corresponds to 75% of the whole fine pore capacity of the material.
