<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a master cylinder capable of shortening a pedal stroke and reducing a feeling of physical disorder in stepping a pedal, which is caused when releasing hydraulic pressure in a large diameter hydraulic chamber. SOLUTION: A control valve 86 is provided, which can release the hydraulic pressure in the large diameter hydraulic chamber 56 to the side of a reservoir 12 so that the hydraulic pressure is lowered gradually according to an increase in hydraulic pressure in a small diameter hydraulic chamber 49. A check opening and closing section 61 is opened due to a decrease in the cubic volume of the large diameter hydraulic chamber 56 caused by the sliding of a stepped piston 16 to the side of the small diameter hydraulic chamber 49, to perform a liquid supply, that is a first fill to the side of the small diameter hydraulic chamber 49 from the large diameter hydraulic chamber 56. When the hydraulic pressure in the large diameter hydraulic chamber 56 increases, the control valve 86 releases the hydraulic pressure in the large diameter hydraulic chamber 56 to the side of the reservoir 12 so that the hydraulic pressure is lowered gradually according to the increase in the hydraulic pressure in the small diameter hydraulic chamber 49.</p> |
