The system (1) has a high-pressure circuit (2) supplied by a first hydraulic pump (4) with a first main pressure regulator (6) and a low pressure circuit (3) supplied by a second pump (5) with a second main pressure regulator (7). The high-pressure circuit has a hydraulic fluid outlet (6.14,6.6,6.15) via which the low pressure circuit is supplied with excess fluid and/or a hydraulic inlet (6.12,6.5,6.13) via which the high-pressure circuit is supplied with missing fluid by the second pump. An independent claim is also included for a method of adjusting a hydraulic pressure level.
