Method and system for managing a real time data streaming session

The method involves sending from a terminal (1) to a data streaming server (10), a request for parameters defining data streaming conditions. A message containing the parameters is transmitted to the terminal via a control module, based on the request and server capacity. The terminal receives the parameters and exchanges messages with the module to reserve network resources for data streaming before starting the data streaming. An independent claim is also included for a system for managing a session of data streaming from a data streaming server towards a terminal.
