PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an easy-to-use electric switch of an endoscope, in which a stable switching function is maintained even if sterilized in a high pressure steam sterilizer and chatter or the like is not easily generated. SOLUTION: The electric switch is provided with a movable part 13 connected to a push button part 13A to be moved forward and backward together with the push button part 13A, and a fixed part 11 arranged fixedly at the outer wall part of an operation part 2 without contacting the movable part 13 near the side part of an area where the movable part 13 is moved forward and backward. A permanent magnet 12 is attached to one of the movable part 13 and the fixed part 11, an MR sensor 20 in which electrical resistivity is changed corresponding to the change of magnetic field strength is attached to the other thereof, and the switching signals of electric on/off are outputted corresponding to the change of the electrical resistivity in the MR sensor 20.
