Cartesian to polar coordinate converter has first (1) and second converter (2) with a summing unit (3), first input (4) of converter is connected to first input of summing unit (3) and first input (8) of first converter. The second input (5) of converter is connected to second input of second converter and second input of first converter. First output (6) of converter is connected with output (10) of first converter and second input of summing unit. Second output (7) of converter is connected to output (13) of second converter and output of summing unit is connected to first input (12) of second converter. Second converter transforms the input signal into polar form by the given formula.
