PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a premature damage while facilitating a high angle by shaping a ball groove of a fixed uniform speed universal joint in a taper form and making it so that a cage can bear well the pocket load to increase accordingly. SOLUTION: The groove bottom at an opening end of the ball groove of an outside joint member is tapered linearly toward the opening end to increase the diameter and the groove bottom at an opposite opening end of the ball groove of an inside joint member is tapered linearly toward the opposite opening end to increase the diameter. The value of the ratio (cage outside diameter Do to ball diameter d) Do/d, the value of the ratio (cage thickness t to ball diameter d) t/d and the value of the ratio (cage width w to ball diameter d) w/d are set to 3.9≤Do/d≤4.1, 0.31≤t/d≤0.34 and 1.8≤w/d≤2.0.
