<p>An abrasive article (1) comprises a body (2) of fibrous, non-woven abrasive material, a sleeve (7) positioned in a central opening (5) of the body of abrasive material, and a hub of polymeric material (8) located within the sleeve, wherein the sleeve has a plurality of spaced gateways therein through which the polymeric material of the hub extends into the abrasive material to secure the hub and the abrasive material together. A method of making the abrasive article comprises the steps of: positioning the sleeve (7) in the central opening (5) of the body (2) of abrasive material; injecting molten polymeric material into the sleeve so that it passes through the gateways into the abrasive material; and allowing the polymeric material to cool and solidify whereby it forms, within the sleeve, a hub that is secured to the abrasive material.</p> |
