PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image pickup device where a locking mechanism can be controlled as correctly as possible by using a sensor capable of detecting only the fact that the locking mechanism lies in a prescribed state. SOLUTION: The image pickup device includes: a blurring correction lens; a locking means rotatable to the circumferential direction of the blurring correction lens and locking the blurring correction lens in accordance with the rotating position thereof; a detecting means for detecting the fact that the locking means lies in a prescribed rotating position; and a controlling means for controlling the driving means. Then, upon the initialization of the locking means, the controlling means performs the first detection with a detecting means regarding the rotating position of the locking means to acquire the first detected result, and controls the driving means so as to rotate the locking means, thereafter performs the second detection with a detecting means regarding the rotating position of the locking means to acquire the second detected result, and, based on the first detected result and second detected result, controls the driving means in such a manner that the locking means is made into the desired state.
