PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely detect a torque in an efficient configuration. SOLUTION: A torque sensor is provided with: a center ring 21 fixed at a center position of a torsion bar 10; an input side ring 22 fixed in the input side of the torsion bar 10; and an output side ring 23 fixed in the output side of the torsion bar 10. The torque sensor is provided with: teeth facing teeth provided on the end of the input side ring 22 in the input side end of the center ring 21; and teeth facing teeth provided on the end of the output side ring 23 in the output side end of the center ring 21. A facing range of the teeth of the center ring 21 and the teeth of the input side ring 22, and a facing range of the teeth of the center ring 21 and the teeth of the output side ring 23, change in a reverse direction concerning an increase and decrease direction in response to a torsion of the torsion bar 10, thereby changing magnetic resistance between the rings. The torque sensor measures a difference between the magnetic resistances with a measuring circuit 40 by using a differential transformer. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
