<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing device which can easily recognize a state of an option board 3. <P>SOLUTION: When power of an option board 3 is activated and a specific state occurs in the option board 3 by a rewrite of a firmware or the like, version information indicating a version of the firmware of the option board 3 is replaced with information indicating the specific state, or information indicating the specific state is embedded in the version information, and the version information is transmitted to a main board 2.
