A honeycomb structure includes a honeycomb unit having plural cells extending from one end face to the other end face of the honeycomb unit in a longitudinal direction separated by a cell wall. The honeycomb unit has an opening ratio of 57% or more and includes 61 to 70 mass% of zeolite, 15 to 25 mass% of an inorganic fiber, and 10 to 20 mass% of alumina other than alumina in the zeolite and the inorganic fiber.
