PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new alkoxy cinnamate ester-based polymer which is expected to be formed into a retardation film having excellent optical characteristics such as a large refractive index in a thickness direction of the film, a large out-of-plane retardation and a large out-of-plane retardation even in a thin film state, and to provide a retardation film using the same.SOLUTION: There is provided an alkoxy cinnamate ester-based polymer containing an alkoxy cinnamate ester residue unit.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
