PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermochromic writing utensil and a thermochromic writing utensil set which are excellent in preservability of calligraphy, do not damage paper and do not produce irregularities on the paper upon erasure of color, therefore, are excellent in preservability of a paper surface formed with the calligraphy, do not erase such a portion as to have no need of erasure and can form a preferable calligraphy again.SOLUTION: A thermochromic writing utensil 1 stores an ink, which includes a reversible thermochromic composition comprising an electron-donative coloration organic compound (a), an electron-acceptive compound (b) and a reaction medium (c) for reversibly causing an electron donating and accepting reaction on a specified temperature region by means of components (a), (b), has a color development initiation temperature tof 10°C or less and a complete color erasure temperature of texceeding 65°C, and has a heating fixture (excluding a friction body for generating friction heat onto a writing surface manually) on a rear part.
