According to various embodiments of the present invention, the present invention relates to an electronic device providing electronic payment function and to an operating method thereof. According to various embodiments of the present invention, the electronic device comprises a display, a communications interface, and a processor. The processor transmits a user identifier to a server through the communications interface, receives at least one card information related to the user identifier from the server through the communications interface to display the card information on the display, selects one among at least one displayed card information, and requests issuance of a token from the server for payment through the communications interface by using at least a part of the selected card information.
