A sheet of material for protecting a treatment table for massage and the like having an opening to receive a person's face, the sheet of material comprising a slit, the slit being adapted to extend diametrically across the opening such that parts of the sheet on opposite sides of the slit serve to protect the inner circumferential portion of the opening.
